Abstract

Indonesia is a country with the third highest incidence of tuberculosis in the world. Panjang Health Center is the health center that has the highest number of pulmonary TB cases in Bandar Lampung. This study aims to determine the effect of host factors (nutritional status, history of contact and co-morbidities (HIV/AIDS and diabetes mellitus) and environment (occupancy density, lighting, ventilation, humidity and temperature) on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis at the Panjang Public Health Center, Bandar Lampung, in 2022. The number of patients with suspected pulmonary TB or those with respiratory disease who are undergoing treatment at the Panjang Health Center in 2022 is 484 people. This quantitative analytic research with cross sectional method has 94 samples taken by simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used bivariate chi square test and multivariate logistic regression. From the results of the study, the sample had poor nutritional status (66%), had no history of contact with pulmonary tuberculosis (51.1%), and had no comorbidities (79.8%). In terms of environment, occupancy density was obtained (61.7%), inadequate ventilation (76.6%), poor lighting (74.5%), humidity did not meet the requirements (81.5%), and inadequate house temperature (69.5%). 1%). The results of the chi-square correlation between host and environment factors on the incidence of pulmonary TB were malnutrition status (p=0.022; OR=9.89) so that it can be concluded that the most dominant factor for the incidence of pulmonary TB at the Panjang Health Center was nutritional status.
