Gastric ulcer is the continuation of gastric mucosa continuity caused by various factors, one of which is the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin. Mesenchymal stem cells as an alternative are important sources for repair and regeneration of damaged tissue. To determine the effect of intramuscular injection of human umbilical mesenchymal stem cell extracts to gastric histopathological appearance in Sprague dawley white rat (Rattus norvegicus) that induced by aspirin. This study used 27 white rats (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague dawley strain which were divided into three groups. The control group (K) was given distilled water and 0.9% NaCl injection, P1 was given aspirin 200 mg / kgBB orally for 14 days and NaCl injection was 0.9%, P2 was given aspirin 200 mg / KgBB orally for 14 days and intramuscular injection of 75 µL stem cells of human umbilical cord on days 14 and 28. The mean score of gastric mucosal damage was K=0.13; P1=1.22; P2=1.18 Data analysis with the Kruskal-Wallis Non-Parametric Test, obtained significant research p=0,000, followed by the Mann-Whitney post hoc test obtained a significant difference in the groups K&P1, K&P2 while P1&P2 did not get a significant difference. There is an effect of intramuscular injection of human umbilical mesenchymal stem cell extracts on the histopathological picture of the white rat (Rattus norvegicus) Sprague dawley strain.
