Abstract

Injury is a state of damage to the structure and function of skin anatomy. One example of an open wound is a cut that has the characteristic presence of linear tears in the skin and underlying tissue. The wound healing process requires chemical compounds that help in the healing process. These compounds such as tannins, flavonoids and saponins. One of the plants that contain these substances is the date palm. This research was conducted in October-November 2019 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung using the observation method. The sample of this study consisted of 20 mice which were divided into 4 groups. The study was conducted by making a cut in mice, after that the wound was given 4 treatments namely povidone iodine, and ajwa date palm extract at a dose of 0.5 mg / ml, 0.75 mg / ml, 1 mg / ml. The data obtained in the form of time in wound healing. Data is processed using statistical tests with a confidence level of 0.05 The results showed that Ajwa date palm meat extract had an effect in the process of wound healing in white rats descriptively but did not provide a statistically significant effect.
