Holistic Management For 58-Years-Old Woman With Cutis Candidiasis Through Family Medicine Approach

Candidiasis is a fungal infection that is acute or subacute and reccurence. This fungal attack the mucocutan and nails. The most common cause of skin and mucosal diseases is Candida albicans. In Indonesia, cutaneous candidiasis is the third most common case among dermatomycosis incidences. In 2013-2016 cases were dominated by intertriginous candidiasis cutis by 50.5%. Risks are obesity, age, hot climate, high humidity, lack of skin hygiene and knowledge, and low socioeconomic. Compliance with medication, medical and non-medical, will affect patient's recovery. This study is a case report. The primary data were obtained through history taking, physical examination, and home visit while the secondary data were obtained from the patient's medical record. Assessment based on a holistic diagnosis from the beginning, process, and end of the study, qualitatively and quantitatively. Mrs. M, 58 years old, jobless, has a complaint of red spots on both breasts and groin accompanied by itching when sweating since 6 weeks ago. Based on the body mass index, the patient was classified as overweight, the patient was prone to sweating and dampness, did not change clothes immediately when sweating, dried towels in the bathroom and rarely washed their hands. The holistic diagnosis and management with the principle of patient centered and family approach to patients has been done. Changes in knowledge and behavior occur after the intervention.
