Holistic Management Of 35 Years Old Male Patient With Pulmonary Tuberculosis Treatment Discontinuation Through Family Medicine Approach In Campang Raya Public Health Center

Tuberulosis (TB) is one of the top 10 causes of death and the first cause of death from an infectious agent. The role of family physician is very important in treating TB from a patient-centered, family- oriented and community-oriented approach so it is not only cures but also promotes health and prevention of TB disease. Primary data were obtained through history taking (autoanamnesis), physical examination and home visits to complete family data, psychosocial and environmental data. Secondary data were obtained from the patient's medical records at the Puskesmas. Assessment is carried out based on a holistic diagnosis from the beginning, process, and end of the study quantitatively and qualitatively. The patient, Mr. M, 35 years old, was diagnosed with discontinued pulmonary tuberculosis with positive smear and functional grade II. Several factors that can affect the patient's condition are internal and external risk factors. In this case, a diagnosis of tuberculosis has been made in accordance with the latest theory and research. The management of category 1 pulmonary tuberculosis given was in accordance with Evidence based medicine. After the intervention, there was a decrease in clinical symptoms and changes in the behavior of patients and their families. The diagnosis and management of clinically confirmed pulmonary tuberculosis in this patient was in accordance with national guidelines.
