Relationship Between Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), Mother’s Age, and Parity Against Anemia During First Trimester of Pregnancy at Puskesmas Kemiling Kota Bandarlampung In 2018

Anemia of pregnancy is recognized as global health problem with 50% of pregnant women suffered from anemia. In 2018, 48,9% pregnant woman in Indonesia is anemic. This study aims to investigate the relationship between Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), mother’s age, and parity against anemia during first trimester of pregnancy at Puskesmas Kemiling Kota Bandarlampung in 2018. The aim of this research is to know the the relationship between CED, mother’s age, and parity against anemia during first trimester of pregnancy at Puskesmas Kemiling Kota Bandarlampung in 2018. This study was observational analytical study with cross sectional approach using secondary data from medical records of pregnant women. Sampling was conducted at Puskesmas Kemiling, city of Bandarlampung in 2018. Sampling was done using simple random sampling technique with a sample of 92 samples that met the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. Data analysis using Fisher’s Exact with α=0,05. The results of the univariate analysis showed that 18,5% pregnant women in the first trimester had anemia, 29,3% had CED, 21,7% had high-risk pregnancy. There is a significant relationship between CED and anemia (p=0,000). There is no significant relationship between mother’s age towards anemia (p=0,346) and parity towards anemia (p=0,892). There is a significant relationship between CED and anemia in pregnant women in the first trimester at Puskesmas Kemiling in the year of 2018.
